In 1947 Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) was the top Hollyowood screenwriter until he was blacklisted for having communist beliefs and that made other people around him uncomfortable. So Dalton was on a mission to expose the dirtiest secrets of how he was blacklisted and that infuriated everyone in Hollywood at this time including gossip columnist Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren) to John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger. Than years later he was the screenwriter for Spartacus that won two Oscars. After Trumbo death in 1976 he is known to history as the Hollywood 10 of Screenwriters.
