Kim Baker (Tina Fey) enjoys the risk of an ongoing quagmire that she refers to as the forgotten war by deciding if she wants to be behind her desk at home or go to Afghanistan by reporting what’s going on there. Just as the movie is making a point it instead makes a joke. As Baker is wearing an orange backpack who sets an introduction to meet General Hollanek (Billie Bob Thornton) the scene-stealing Billy Bob Thornton mocks her for bringing a bright orange backpack and Baker protests The girl in the North Face store said it was, like, military grade. At the end of the movie where they showed Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels as Producers it reminded me of 30 Rock. I would have liked watching movies produced in other areas of the world than Hollywood and Europe – there is no better remedy for single stories and prejudices than intercultural encounters.
