This is based on true events. David Packouz (Miles Teller) and Efraim Diveroli (Jonah Hill) two good friends or where they acting like they were friends? Little did they know they exploited a little-known government that allows small business like theirs AEY to bid on U.S. military contracts. They discovered they won a 300 million deal to arm the Afghan Military – a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government. The real Efraim Diveroli declined to meet with Jonah Hill. Hill said “I’m used to it. If a person is aggressively against me playing them, it’s probably a good sign.” The real David Packouz appears in the beginning of the film, as the artist playing the guitar in the nursing home. In this Movie, Miles Teller’s character David receives a call from Mike Finkel from the New York Times about the fake Bank Statements and repackaging of AK Ammunition. In the Movie, True Story staring James Franco and Jonah Hill (who co stars in War Dogs with Teller), Jonah Hill plays Mike Finkel, who’s identity was assumed by accused Murderer Christian Longo.
