Patti Cakes known as rapper Patricia (Danielle Macdonald) formed a group called PBNJ as they tested the beat with Rap. She wanted to get the attention of OZ (Sahr Ngaujah) who is the most fantastical of hip-hop superstars unfortunately Patricia did too much rapping in front of Oz. When she gave her CD to Oz he didn’t think it was good enough. I personally didn’t like the movie there was too much of swearing and vulgarity. It was very disappointing and Danielle Macdonald was dreadful, very mis-cast in it, and poor direction.
Why did Patricia and Barb have a problematic relationship
This is most complex relationship in the film between Patricia and her mother Barb (Bridget Everett), who resents where her own life ended up after a promising early singing career. Everything from the quiet tragedy of dive bar karaoke to a rap legend’s pretension is displayed with authenticity and dedication.
Patti Cakes an Uninspiring Rapper
When she is off from her work her rapping has no fresh beats and has no fresh content. She has internal grievances, her mother doesn’t support her, and she swore every time she could to let it all out.
